We have had wall to wall coverage from the MSM about how Joe Hockey would be the consensus choice for the Liberals and that he will lead the Liberal Party, even though no vote has yet been taken. By contrast, Tony Abbott announced his leadership intentions last week – the first to do so –  but only now is the MSM discovering his quest for the leadership, with predictable propaganda style headlines like this:

Liberal leadership turns to farce

THE Liberal crisis has deepened with Tony Abbott declaring he’ll go head-to-head against Joe Hockey and Malcolm Turnbull.

Abbott was the first to announce, so why was it not ‘Liberal farce’ when the leftist Joe Hockey announced his intentions? So keep the only conservative candidate out of it and leave it all to Joe Hockey, now that the MSM’s candidate of choice MT has fallen over. The MSM have their pick and they are now doing their best to get him over the line.

However, even if Abbott wins the leadership there is no prospect that he will be able to block the carbon taxation and trading legislation. Given that a number of Liberal Party senators have given into socialist scaremongering, they are serving another master now and will likely vote to get the carbon legislation through.

Carbon taxation has become a seminal issue for the Liberals and there is unlikely to be any compromised position on the issue. Those Liberals opposed to carbon taxation have only one option left to them; To leave the Liberal Party and join the Nationals. This would arrest the Nationals demographic decline and cement a conservative option for voters.
