Is there anything in the world the left haven’t blamed John Howard for? Another example comes from the American media’s version of liberalism. Apparently, Howard’s invited stay at Blair House (the Presidential guest house for visiting dignitaries) has upset the media chattering classes because it has forced the Messiah, the Holy of Hollies, the Anointed One, the Great Buddha, the Muhammad of US Politics, simply The One, Prophet, Seer and Regulator, Barack (Barry) Hussein Obama, to stay in an exclusive five-star hotel while he awaits his impending coronation to the throne of USA politics. Put out if you will…gee a bit like Obama’s shack-living brother in Kenya. At least Obama will get to feel a little of what its like to be his brother, as he laments not being able to dump his five-star Presidential suite hotel room for Blair House.

There is a video on You Tube of the media fracas. I don’t want to pollute my website with it. Needless to say, this story is a classic case of too many journalists not enough news. The US news channels and left-wing radio are going into hyper-drive to ensure that nothing spoils Obama’s coronation, for instance:

Washington talk radio show Bill Press has also expressed his astonishment.

“I have to say with all due respect to our friends in Australia that I think our future leader far outranks, or should far outrank your former leader,” he said.

“I think it’s an insult to the American people. I think it’s an insult to Barack Obama and I think it is George Bush just paying off one of his old pals.

Well Obama either does or should far outrank Howard? Which one is it, myth or reality?

Petty small minded stuff. What hubris. Last time I checked Obama is lacking in leadership experience, and apart from reading, writing and talking, he hasn’t actually achieved anything of substance in his flash in the pants career. By contrast, books could be written of Howard’s accomplishments, not just for Australia but for the entire Asia-Pacific region – East Timorese independence, Solomon Islands stability, Bali Bombings evacuation and recovery, provision of aid and assistance during the Asian Financial Crisis and Tsunami Relief efforts, etc… Where was Obama when all of that was going on? He was likely smoking some wacky tabacky with his anarchist and terrorist mate Bill Ayers and his racist and xenophobic pastor Jeremiah Wright. Then there was Obama’s unusual real estate dealings with sketchy political fixer Tony Rezko and his association with Acorn, an organisation with a history of using electoral fraud to achieve political ends. It makes for an interesting list of ‘accomplishments’ and demonstrates Obama’s style of leadership and his strength of character when it comes to dealing with unsavoury individuals and organisations. It probably explains why he’s been so quick to accept a nuclear Iran: he lacks personal conviction beyond promoting himself.
