Gillard would have us believe that she is some sort of born-again conservative; that she has rescinded her socialist views and embraced the main stream politics of fiscal and social conservatism. The media haven’t bothered in their lazy way to ask Gillard when this amazing transformation from a socialist rat-bag at university, as a lawyer and until recently as a politician occurred.

What was the event, or was it a gradual transformation? More like inspired by focus groups. I wonder if Gillard would be happy to be described as a neo-conservative? A socialist that has become a conservative. In other words, when did Gillard have her Irving Kristol style ‘mugged by reality’ moment?

The answer has to be never. Gillard is a fake and a fraud. Even if you are gullible enough to believe that she has had this amazing political transformation within sight of an election, why would anyone vote for an unconvincing johnny come lately when you can have the real deal in Tony Abbott?

Just look at Gillard’s own life. She has rejected the central conservative societal institution of marriage, and hence is in a defacto relationship. Hardly evidence of her own conservative authenticity, more like two-faced. Then by her own admission she decided when going into politics that she would put career ahead of family. Once again a rejection of the second central conservative societal institution, the family. Yet as her first act of election campaigning she has the gall to be surrounded by children and other family centric themes.

She was surrounded by babies and a large media contingent franticly snapping cameras.

Ms Gillard told the crowd that it wasn’t a day for big political speeches even though the election was “in train”.

“But I would say to the mums and dads who are here, that what I want to see for their children’s future is a country where every child … is going to have a great quality of education.”

No doubt the main stream media will uncritically lap it up. Now not every one will get married or have a family, but it is Gillard’s complete rejection of those two institutions in her own life that is the problem. How can anyone expect to take anything she says about children and the family seriously when she never wanted them in her own life? Not didn’t get the opportunity, but never wanted the opportunity.  The same analysis can be extended to anything else conservatives hold dear. Gillard is not the real deal, but a desperate one dimensional politician that wants power to help herself feel fulfilled as a person.  As some sort of substitute for the life she never wanted. Let’s not make Gillard’s psychological problems Australia’s problems. She is no conservative.

UPDATE

A fine example of Gillard’s deceit and two-face nature. I strongly encourage readers to study the background story as to how Gillard deliberately mislead Parliament to cover up her own incompetence. It also shows how completely biased most of the ABC political journalists have become that they don’t even know when they have the story of the election.

UPDATE II

A must listen to interview about Gillard’s two-faced nature using examples from her own personal and political life.
